Muffin Tin Monday

Thing 1 and Thing 2 participated in their first MTM today! I used to do them with Bub every week, but once he started school we stopped. I decided the boys might be old enough to give it a try today. They thought it was pretty funny they were eating out of cupcake liners, and Thing 1 ate better than he usually does!

They had hot dogs, bananas, cheese, and pretzels.

Muffin Tin Monday

Lots of birthday party and zoo trip pictures to follow, but for now it's Muffin Tin Monday! It was our last Monday before school (Bub starts tomorrow); and he'll be going full day this year. So, I'm still deciding what we're going to do about MTM because he still really enjoys doing it each week. So, it may be a breakfast tin from now on.

But today, we had a Back to School tin.

We had - Goldfish (school of fish), 1 sandwich (1st grade), Star cheese (I was thinking he'll be a star this year. He was thinking Great Job), Apple (well, you know).

Oh, and the little purple pouch was his special treat from the grocery store this week. It's those KoolAid Fizzies. You plop one in like Alka Seltzer and it fizzes until it dissolves and creates grape Kool Aid. Bub thinks it fantastic!

Muffin Tin Monday

I didn't try to hard for a theme today, so I went more for our typical summer fare. I almost forgot to snap a picture, and managed to catch one as Bub was putting together his sandwich.

He had grapes, cheese kabobs, build your own sandwich with flower and butterfly bread, duck meat, and tulip cheese, pretzels and then he polished off the babies' banana and flat bread sandwich that they didn't want.

We had a baseball theme at our house today complete with everything you'd eat at a baseball game!

Bowl of peanuts, Hot Dogs with penant picks, ketchup to dip, pretzels, bat and glove cheese, and tomato cut like home plate.

Muffin Tin Monday

We got to use some of our new goodies from our Muffin Tin swap today and Bub was very excited. I kept having to chase him out of the kitchen because I wanted a few things to be surprises.

We had a Lego theme for our muffin tin today complete with Cheese-Kabobs, Grape-Kabobs, Almonds, Lego Brick Sandwich, and crackers

I didn't get very creative with the sandwich, but it was supposed to be a Lego brick (obviously a Duplo).

Bub's Lego guys held signs letting him know what he was eating.

Bub made a tree so our almonds could be like coconuts that fell out of the tree.

Muffin Tin Swap

We've been participating in Muffin Tin Mondays for a while now, so when Muffin Tin Mom suggested a Muffin Tin swap - we were in (I was trying to see how many times I could type Muffin Tin in one sentence).

Michelle (muffin tin mom) even took the initiative to set me up with another twin momma, Mariah. We got our package yesterday, and it was filled with all kinds of goodies that would delight any Lego loving boy!

We got a great silicone pan - our first! Look at the creative label she made for it.

Some great Spiderman cupcake liners and picks (we love picks).

And she made some awesome Lego themed picks. I think I might like them more than Bub.

She even made some R's for Bub. Thanks Mariah!! We can't wait for Monday to roll around.

Muffin Tin Monday

We've missed a few Muffin Tin Mondays due to Bub's surgery and vacation, but we're back on track now. Today was absolutely gorgeous, so we ate out on the deck and had a little Muffin Tin Picnic. We made our own theme of sticks!

I'm finally getting caught up over here, so pictures of our Omaha and St. Louis trips coming soon!

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sticks, Carrot Sticks, Applesauce (okay, just threw that one in there), Pretzel Sticks out of the Chex Mix, Cheese Stick, and Banana Sticks.

Muffin Tin Monday

Yeah, so it's not Monday, but we had our Muffin Tin today. We had an impromptu play date on Monday and yesterday's lunch time was a bit hectic.

Today's continuation of the spring theme was plants, flowers, and seeds. I wasn't feeling too creative, so it kind of fits the theme.

We had carrots - plant, flower shaped cheese, celery and ranch - R decided it was grass around a pond, apples - they have seeds, and peanuts - these were our seeds.

Muffin Tin Monday

Today's theme was Birds and Nests and, of course, I remembered at 10 AM. So, we kind of threw together a themed muffin tin today.

We had Pirate's Puff Popcorn because birds like corn right? A slice of cheese cut like an egg. A bird shaped turkey sandwich with a cheese beak. Sticks for building a nest - a.k.a. pretzels. A nest of peaches holding cottage cheese (needed a fruit). And last, but not least, bird poop - a.k.a. yogurt with chocolate chips. Bub thought this was hilarious!

Muffin Tin Monday

It's Muffin Tin Monday again! Today was no theme, but we ended up creating our own. We managed to have "round" day for our muffin tin.

We had grapes, cheese stick cut up, tomato, peanut butter/cracker sandwiches, and bananas.

Today was Colors of the Rainbow theme.

So, we had...

Strawberries, Carrots, Cheese (our yellow) wrapped around turkey, Celery (with peanut butter), olives (we had to discuss how black fit into our rainbow), and pink yogurt. Oh, and blue gatorade to top it off!

Muffin Tin Monday

Happy Monday! It was a beautiful day here and we even got to enjoy walking home from school before we enjoyed our muffin tin for lunch. There was no theme today, and I'm sure lots of kiddos had yummy Easter leftovers. But, we were spoiled and had lunch at Mom and Dad's yesterday, so no leftovers for us.

Instead, we had, turkey and cheese sandwich, carrots with ranch, Cheetos, hard boiled egg and Hershey's Kisses that he didn't eat.

Speaking of bread, I typically make our bread because I know what's in it, and quite frankly, it's waaaaay cheaper. But now that there are five of us eating bread, I'm making it all the time. I just made a loaf Thursday night, and we finished it off today already. So I guess I know what I'll be doing for this evening's excitement...

Muffin Tin Monday

Today's theme was blue and purple. I remembered it over the weekend, and then forgot today until about 10 min. before I went to pick R up from school (and was feeding Thing 1 and Thing 2 at the time so I couldn't even go look in the kitchen to see what we had).

But we made it work with grape jelly on our sandwich, blueberries, grape jello, blue applesauce (dyed), and blue gatorade (R is obsessed with gatorade, so it was nice to have a reason to let him have some).

It's Muffin Tin Monday again. No theme today, and our grocery trip is after Thing 1 and Thing 2's afternoon nap, so that meant whatever we had in the house.

So, we had pretzels, tortilla chips, strawberries, "duck" turkey and cheese sandwich, and an "egg" turkey sandwich.
